In France, we eat very well - it's not a myth! There are many different places where you can find more or less healthy and affordable food.

Restau U

The university restaurant has the advantage of being really good value for money. Located on or near campuses and in student accommodations, U restaurants are open Monday to Friday throughout the academic year. 88% of students eat there regularly, and ¼ of them daily, for only... 3€25! Surely the most economical and practical solution to eat between classes.

The market

You may be picturing sunny town markets in the middle of Provence. You should know that in big French cities, many markets can be found too. Cheese, vegetables, fruits, meat - producers come to sell their seasonal products in a friendly atmosphere.

Mini-markets

To fill your fridge, mini-markets are handy. These are convenience stores with rather extensive opening hours and where you will find all your groceries. Prices can sometimes be quite high depending on the neighbourhood and the chain name.

AMAPS

These associations connect directly the local producers / farmers with the consumers. Every week, you get a basket of fresh fruits, vegetables and other fresh food. You can find them on your campus or in your SMERRA branches.
